Marcus Rashford has had a positive start to life at Aston Villa since joining the Midlands club on loan from Manchester United.

The 27-year-old was in the spotlight during Villa's 2-1 comeback against Chelsea on Saturday evening. Rashford provided two assists for Marcos Asensio - proving to be a significant half-time substitute.

It only took him 11 minutes of being on the pitch to set up the equaliser for Villa by playing the ball across the box for Asensio to score his first for the club. The Spaniard netted the winner in the 89th minute after Filip Jorgensen failed to keep Asensio's strike out.

Although he is yet to find the back of the net, Rashford now has two assists in three league games. Taking to Instagram, he shared snaps of him celebrating with his Villa teammates and wrote: "Huge 3 points. UTV."

Asensio, who spoke to Sky Sports after the game, said: "We know all the qualities of Marcus. He helps us a lot and thank you also to him for the two assists."

Villa head coach Unai Emery explained what he was doing with Rashford to redress the aspects of his game that had suffered so dramatically at United. "We want to support him, help him. Try to help him to feel comfortable here," he said. "Try to help him get confidence with us. Try to use the skills in our tactical ideas, try to be demanding with him. He is in this process.

"Of course he played a fantastic 45 minutes. We now want him to be consistent. Hopefully he is going to be important, like today, but then more and more and more. The most important thing for him is to try to be here with us and be confident and comfortable in a good atmosphere - this is my objective."

With two more games to come before the end of the month, Rashford will be eyeing starts at Crystal Palace on Tuesday as well as in the FA Cup tie against Cardiff City next Friday.
